Jane and Peter's adventure in a plane, one of a series of four concertina vehicles. exhibited at Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2013
The characters are borrowed from the popular 50s children's books. The narrative moves from panel to panel through the interiour of the plane, starting at the rear and finishing in the cockpit. Jane provides a deeper insight at the end.
This concertina book resembles a Chinese screen. The outside features a uniform pattern, while the story takes place on the inside panels. Like the other books in the series, the design creates an optical illusion when viewed standing semi-unfolded on a table in front of a viewer.
